Maggie's Story...
My name is Maggie. I was here at BHRA way back when I was young. Now I am 10 yo and came back to these nice people as an owner surrender. My special person died and no one could take care of me. But I knew I could count on BHRA to help me find a new home. I have wonderful manners, and love to to huggle and snuggle. My foster folks say I am a perfect lady. There are several other bassets living here and I just love running and playing with them. The Basset 500 is right on for me cause I have lots of life left in me and I am in great help. Do you like the wonderful nature of a Senior hound? If so I am the gal for you!.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maggie, a Birmingham Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Birmingham, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Birmingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Birmingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Birmingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Birmingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
