ADOPTION PENDING!

As HAHS now has several adoption locations, please contact Liz directly at 913-226-2694 or liz_novak@hotmail.com to find out when and where you can meet MABELLINE!

If you're looking for a sweet, cuddly, friendly dog to add to your family, Mabelline just might be your gal. She's a beautiful 1-year-old mystery mix who just loves to snuggle with her people. The shelter guessed that she might be an Aussie mix, probably because of the little bit of blue in one of her eyes, but her foster mom thinks Mabelline might have some Lab and Shepherd in her family tree. She's a calm, quiet girl who loves attention from everyone, kids and adults. She'll greet new people with a smile and a wagging tail, and soon roll over for belly rubs. Mabelline appears to be housetrained and we're working on some basic commands while she's in foster care. She gets along well with most dogs, but we aren't sure about cats. Mabelline would be fine as an "only dog," as she's mellow enough to be happy curled up at your feet or next to you on the couch. She also loves to go for walks. If she sounds like the right dog for you, call her foster mom today to find out where and when you can meet Miss Mabelline!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mabelline, a Overland Park Australian Shepherd/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd/Labrador Retriever for sale in Overland Park, or seeking a Australian Shepherd/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Overland Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Overland Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Overland Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Australian Shepherd/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Overland Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
