Cochito's Story...
Cochito is a gorgeous dog! He loves dog friends and is a little scared of cats, go figure. Cochito would be a great partner for outings and the dog park. He likes walks and will do some cute tricks for his treats! Cochito is always close by his person and will lay at your feet all day long. Careful around young, inexperienced children though...he loves to play and express little love nips. Donations are critical to our existence -- they help us to continue rescuing these animals and to make sure that they are healthy and properly socialized before being adopted.Thank you for considering a rescued animal from This Is The Dog!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cochito, a Homestead Shih Tzu/Wheaten Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu/Wheaten Terrier for sale in Homestead, or seeking a Shih Tzu/Wheaten Terrier dog from a breeder in Homestead.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Homestead already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Homestead breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu/Wheaten Terrier breeders who help with Shih Tzu/Wheaten Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Homestead paves the way for another one to be saved.
