My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Emma - Emma was found by a shelter worker friend of ours and is being fostered by her. She is the contact and her information is near the end of this listing.

Let me introduce sweet little Emma! She is 1-2 years old and weighs about 20lbs. She was found alone in the forest when we took our dogs for a walk. Emma was very timid and although she wouldn’t come to us she wasn’t about to leave us either. After some coaxing we were able to catch her and put a collar on her. While our dogs finished their walk and went for a swim Emma took a nap. She was very tired and hungry and slept all the way home.

Emma is learning to trust us humans and knows that we hold the key to happiness…aka food! She still needs to gain some weight but, otherwise has gotten a clean bill of health. She has been spayed, heart worm tested (negative) and vaccinated. She is now ready to find her forever home. Emma will require a patient family that will continue to help her trust people. She will run away from people if she’s scared. She will need to be in a secured environment or leashed at all times to keep her safe.

Emma has made great progress since she arrived. She will come to us for pets and lick our hands. She also likes to snuggle up and sleep on the bed. She is crate trained and will sleep in her crate when she takes a nap. She also eats in her crate and always goes in willingly with a treat or Kong filled with goodies.

Emma LOVES other dogs and toys! She acts like a puppy and is very funny. She does like to steal though…socks, towels, shoes, etc. A puppy proof home will be needed.
