Phoenix's Story...

Arrival Story: Phoenix came with his brother from a kill shelter, where they were found as strays and the shelter simply did not have any room.

Approximate Age: About 10 months old.

Personality: Woof! My name is Phoenix and I am looking for a home with an active family. I absolutely love children, playing with other dogs, and I'm OK with cats. My mix is probably a small terrier and maybe some shepherd. At 10 months old I am only about 30-35llbs. I have the greatest personality - as I am very sweet, affectionate, and very fun and playful. My favorite toys are tennis balls and soft, squeaky toys. I'm food motivated and would accept training easily. I'd love for someone to take me to obedience class as I listen and want to please. If your looking for brains, looks, AND personality... I'M YOUR DOG!

Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $175, or $200 for puppies plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age. Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.

We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. With few exceptions, we show our adoptable animals on Saturdays from 12pm - 3pm at Petco in Novi (on Novi Rd south of 12 mile) or Petsmart in Canton (Ford Road between N. Lilley and Haggerty). Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).

Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.

Thank you for your support of rescue and your interest in a rescue dog!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Phoenix, a Northville Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) for sale in Northville, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog from a breeder in Northville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Northville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Northville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Northville paves the way for another one to be saved.
