Genevieve's Story...
Ok folks, the line starts over here to the right!!! I can't imagine that Genevieve will be in rescue very long. She's a miniature dachshund and when I say miniature, I mean miniature. She weighs 5 pounds 3 ounces! We believe that she is 3 years old. We actually pulled Genevieve from a shelter - they were gonna euth her for space. How much space could this little munchkin take up? We feel very lucky to have her. She's adorable, sassy and a good little cuddler. She gets along just fine with the other dogs in her foster home. When you say her name, she comes scampering over to be held. She walks fine on leash. Genevieve is so tiny that we won't be adopting her to a home with very small children. They'll likely think that she is a toy and that could be dangerous for her and for the children.

Genevieve is spayed, up to date on all shots, heartworm negative, on heartworm and flea preventative, microchipped and has had a dental cleaning. Her adoption fee is $200.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Genevieve, a House Springs Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in House Springs, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in House Springs.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in House Springs already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a House Springs breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in House Springs paves the way for another one to be saved.
