Lucy's Story...
Intake: September 21, 2011

Lucy is a pretty and friendly young lab mix. She came to the shelter when her owners chose not to claim her from the pound. Lucy is a medium sized dog that is smaller than she appears in her photos! She has lots of energy and has a winning personality! She will require plenty of exercise to keep her content. Lucy is playful and affectionate and will make a great addition to almost any home!

Update: Lucy has been behavior assessed as per PVHS policy. Lucy is still a young girl so will need a bit of patience to help her develop into the best dog she can be. She is playful and energetic and just plain happy! Lucy loves being near people. She has shown that she is a bit fearful of loud noises, but we think that with consistency and training she will build up her confidence in this area. Lucy should be great around children of all ages, and should be fine with other dogs and cats provided she was introduced carefully. Lucy will make a wonderful pet for almost any family!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucy, a Morden Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Morden, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Morden.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Morden already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Morden breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Morden paves the way for another one to be saved.
