My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ammo is a very handsome Harlequin Great Dane. He is just 3 1/2 years old and his family decided that they were not interested in having this large a dog after all. Hopefully his new family will have a good knowledge of the breed and their individual needs and will have large breed experience.


Ammo is shy of strangers and needs a bit of time to warm up to new people but once he gets to know you he is just a big ham. He will shy away from raised hands at first but just give him time to relax and he will be looking to be your best friend. Both Ammo and Jasmine came from a high kill shelter but they were not originally turned in together. They do like each other very much however and would be ideal for anyone looking to adopt a pair of Danes. Ammo is good with other dogs as well and has no issue with cats. He is also experienced with livestock.


Ammo is an extra large young dog that is loving, affectionate and very loyal to his people. He will need some further obedience training to help hone his skills but in the right environment he will make a wonderful companion.


Please ensure that you have experience with Danes or have researched the breed thoroughly before applying to adopt. This is a very devoted dog and we would like to see him find his forever home and be given the chance to thrive.
