Crackers's Info...

I am in need of an experienced adopter.

Crackers's Story...
Cracker is a beautiful Military Macaw. He is tame and a talker. He says "hi" to other birds and says "bye, bye" when you walk out of the room or turn off the light at night.

Crackers loves to chew on wooden toys and seems to really like bells too. His favorite activity for now, though, is the shower. His foster mom says he loves it and just looks at her when she turns off the water, as if to say, "Hey! I wasn't done yet!"

Crackers will stick out his foot when he wants to be picked up. He likes to have his head scratched and to be petted. He would be a great bird for anyone with large bird experience.

Crackers' approximate hatch date is 1995, and his adoption donation is $600.

For information on some of the characteristics of this bird, see this Species Profile page: http://www.staravian.org/species_profiles_cont.html#Macaw

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Crackers, a St. Louis Macaw was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Macaw for sale in St. Louis, or seeking a Macaw from a breeder in St. Louis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in St. Louis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a St. Louis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Macaw breeders who help with Macaw rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in St. Louis paves the way for another one to be saved.
