GIDGET's Story...
Gidget," possibly a Belgian Malinois mix with her dark muzzle and thick reddish coat,

came to us from a kill shelter in Brazoria County over a year ago, along with her sister, Bridget, who happily was adopted

soon after. Gidget really missed her sister, since they were abandoned together and on the run for quite a while. A very

kind animal control officer begged the rescue community to give the two sisters a second chance. We could not bear

to have them put down so we brought them to True Blue Friends. Gidget was the quiet one, a bit shy and submissive.

You don't dare raise your Alpha voice around Gidget because she will cower and roll on her back with all four legs in the air, making you feel bad for hurting her feelings. If you are looking for a "good 'ole dog,” Gidget, who is around 3-4 years old and about 45 pounds, would make a great fitness companion to take on walks and runs or for your kids to curl up to, like a big furry pillow. Meet our sweet Gidget at this Tuesday's Rice U Farmer's Market, 3:30-7 pm.

Contact Janice at TrueBlueRescue@gmail.com to arrange a meeting with Gidget.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

GIDGET, a Houston Belgian Malinois dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Belgian Malinois for sale in Houston, or seeking a Belgian Malinois dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Belgian Malinois breeders who help with Belgian Malinois rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
