Pebbles's Info...

I am in need of an experienced adopter.

Pebbles's Story...
Pebbles is a very timid Blue & Gold Macaw. Her owner was seriously ill and had to give up her birds. Pebbles and the lady's other birds were moved to a home where there was no human interaction. Pebbles did not take well to the absence of her owner and aggressively began plucking her own feathers. She has plucked so long, it is questionable if she'll ever be fully feathered again.

Still, Pebbles is a really sweet bird. She loves the attention she is getting now. She likes to play with fingers, either holding them or putting one in her mouth! She is very gentle and seems happy to be where she can see people and other birds all day. Don't be deceived by looks; this young lady is a sweetheart, who would make a wonderful companion for an experienced bird person.

Pebbles' approximate hatch date is 1999, and her adoption fee is $300.

For information on some of the characteristics of this bird, see this Species Profile page:

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pebbles, a St. Louis Macaw was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Macaw for sale in St. Louis, or seeking a Macaw from a breeder in St. Louis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in St. Louis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a St. Louis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Macaw breeders who help with Macaw rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in St. Louis paves the way for another one to be saved.
