Hickory's Story...
Hello, I’m Hickory. I am a very shy, extremely beautiful, chestnut brown pit bull terrier mix who came to the shelter as a stray. I was found with my buddy, Harper, who is also here at the shelter. I’m a little afraid still, but the shelter volunteers have been very kind and gentle and I’m sure I’ll relax a little once my new surroundings become more familiar. Even though I’m a bit shy, I’m very alert and curious about my surroundings and will interact with the people who care for me.

Everyone at the shelter has been quite impressed with my looks, saying what a beautiful color I am and what a handsome boy I am. I’m loving all the positive attention. Hickory was neutered by the volunteer group; that fee will be due at the time of his adoption.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hickory, a Meridian American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Meridian, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
