Douglas's Story...
This little puppy is a bundle of joy. Douglas is a quick learner and knows how to do sit and down and is working on stay and come in his foster home. He likes to play with his foster big brother and loves water - he already knows how to swim! Although Douglas can be an assertive little guy, he's responsive to verbal commands and has learned "leave it" as well. His favorite thing to do is play fetch with a tennis ball and will even bring it back to you. He is a rough and tumble kind of dog but loves affection and also likes to lie on your lap and fall asleep. A little shy at first (especially children), he warms up quickly and is continually being socialized with lots of people. Although he can be strong willed, Douglas has shown that with leadership, he is a good canine citizen. If you're interested in meeting Douglas, please call Lynn Howe at 916 652 4154.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Douglas, a Auburn Chow Chow puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chow Chow for sale in Auburn, or seeking a Chow Chow puppy from a breeder in Auburn.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Auburn already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Auburn breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chow Chow breeders who help with Chow Chow rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Auburn paves the way for another one to be saved.
