Runt's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, and up to date with shots.

Runt's Story...
Runt is a very handsome, sweet, and playful six-month-old, 30-pound, male, black and tan Australian Shepherd-mix puppy looking for a loving guardian. Runt was found stray and was to be euthanized at a high kill shelter before he was thankfully rescued! He loves people and gets along well with other dogs too. He has not yet been cat tested. Like any young dog, he will need a home where someone ha time for training, exercise and housebreaking. Until he is well trained, he is probably best with older children.

Runt is healthy, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, de-wormed and heartworm-tested. If you are interested in fostering or adopting this needy boy, please contact Melia at melia88@comcast.net or 708-224-1900. His adoption fee of $200 benefits rescue dogs. He is currently kenneled in Steger, Illinois and would love to get out of the kennel and into a loving home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Runt, a Chicago Australian Shepherd puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Australian Shepherd puppy from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
