My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Stanley is a little charmer. He is a quiet, calm, affectionate and intelligent little dog that enjoys being with people. He has no prey drive and is good with other dogs of all sizes and cats. He is a small dog weighing just under 20 lbs and is approximately a year old. He would be a great little dog for a single or as a family pet.

Stanley is an unassuming, loving and loyal little dog that would excel at obedience but even with no training he is a great little pet. He would be fine in a home with children and other pets or as the only pet. He is quiet and well behaved and both house and crate trained although he is fine when left on his own. He is a very loyal little dog with no prey drive or a need to run. He likes to be with his person and is very trusting and eager to please.

Stanley would be fine in an apartment as long as he got a walk each day. He is friendly with everyone he meets including other dogs and is fine with cats.

Here is what his foster mom had to say:

Stanley appears to be very eager to love someone. When there is traffic and people outside my house, he is sitting up and very alert to sounds. But he is timid and nervous when experiencing something new, like me going down the basement stairs; I had to coax him down, then he was so excited with his accomplishment. He does not seem to be even interested in others as we walk down the street. He has greeted other dogs and people in a timid, guarded manner but then warms up immediately. Boys on bikes do not bother him either.

Stanley is fine when I leave the room, but usually will follow me around the house. He sleeps very well, will stay sleeping, knowing that I will return. He behaves very well on a leash. He is a very good, polite house guest. He waits patiently at the door for me if I am outside. He did get loose within the first week that he was with me and I called and he stopped and waited for me to come get him!

If you think this adorable little boy would be a good fit for your family, please go to our website at http://uglymutts.com and submit an application for consideration.
