Karat's Story...
Karat is a beautiful orange and white tabby, and is a very big boy. He was born in April 2011, and so is still a kitten, although his size will make you question that! Loves to be held and pet and is very playful. If he wants your affection, he will sit next to you or on you and simply stare at you until you give in. He blinks though, so you can beat him in a staring contest. Karat coexists with other cats, after a brief period of getting to know eachother. He is a real sweetie! We believe he would do well with children and dogs. He absolutely loves people, and really loves a crowd. On New Year's Eve, he was the life of the party, and took turns jumping in the lap of each party-goer. He is not shy! And fortunately, he is a low shedder. He would make a wonderful addition to any family.

All HART kittens and cats are vet checked, combo tested, spayed or neutered, up to date on all vaccines, microchipped, and on flea and tick preventative.

If you are interested in any of our kitties, you must complete an online cat adoption application available at http://www.rescueahart.org/catadoptionapplication.asp. The application will put you in touch with this wonderful cat's foster family so you can schedule a meeting. Thanks!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Karat, a Cincinnati Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Cincinnati, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Cincinnati.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cincinnati already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cincinnati breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cincinnati paves the way for another one to be saved.
