My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATED BIO 1/3/12: Cassie here, just wanted to let you know a few things you may want to know about me! I'm still in Largo, Fl and I still weigh 5.1 lbs. Foster mom said to let you know I definitely am acting more like a 4 or 5 year old and I have become very bossy. I've learned how to get everyone in the house to do what I want to do (because I am so cute =0) My hair is growing in so good since I've been here and I'm not the little scared puppy I used to be, unless taken out of my home environment. At home I definitely run the show. You can dress me up with shirts or dresses, because I got so used to wearing them when I didn't have any hair, or you can leave me au natural, I'm happy either way.

I really would love to have a home with at least one other puppy for me to boss around and a fenced in yard, because I do like to take those quick swoops around to check everything in the yard out and exercise those long legs of mine. I truly love my people once I am in your care and don't let you forget it. There is nothing better then to sit on your lap in curl up next to you to take a nap. I do not seem to have a problem with being home alone as long as I have a play pal. I do really well with either going outside or using a pee pad. I also like to have a big plush pillow in a crate to sleep with my play pal if left alone. You could say I've gotten a little spoiled since I've been here, but foster mom said I am worth every bit of it. Hope to hear from you soon! Are you ready to share the love????

UPDATED BIO 12/5/11: Cassie here, foster mom said it was time to let you all know that it's time for me to find my furever home, maybe for Christmas? Foster mom said to tell you she doesn't want to be a foster failure, so I needed to find a home. I actually weigh 5.01 lbs currently and am acting like a 4 year old. I love having another puppy in the house to play with and a fenced yard for me to exercise these long legs of mine is a must!! It only takes me a couple of days to warm up to my new family and then it just keeps getting better and better, for I am a lover <3

I will continue to have issues with new environments and people, so that will be an ongoing process, just slow but sure. I love snuggling in as close as I can get to my people, unless I am playing in the back yard. Could you be the new home for me???

UPDATED BIO 10/26/2011: Looks like someone has been drinking from the Fountain of Youth! Cassie's age has changed! The vet has determined if she is 6 years old, that would be pushing it. She's probably closer to 3-4 years. Isn't that great!? She is currently being fostered in Largo, Fl and her weight is now up to 5.1 lbs. Cassie is known around the house here as Fancy Prancer. She has gotten over her fear of some men and some strangers, although when taken out of her environment that she has become accustomed to, she will panic and shake. Cassie loves attention, and loves being held. She is a very tight snuggler, curling into your stomach every chance she gets. Her hair is growing in, very slowly, but it is definitely filling in. She is excellent for car rides, walks and sitting in the sun. She enjoys running in the back yard and has such long legs, she looks like a little gazelle when she takes off. Cassie did want to let you know, she will be going back to the vet in a couple of weeks to verify when she is going to be healthy enough for her spay and dental. She will keep you updated.

INITIAL BIO 10/03/2011: Cassie is a beautiful yet very neglected 7 year
old 4.6 lb little girl who was left to die at a high kill shelter.
Though she came in as a stray, her condition showed that she had been
forgotten long ago. She had bad demodectic mange and the secondary
bacterial and yeast infections that come along with it. She lost most
of her hair because it was matted and was shaved by the shelter. She
is grossly underweight and should be at LEAST 7-8 lbs. Her teeth,
while not as bad as many others, are in need of a dental where she
will lose many of them because nobody ever took the time to care for
them.

On our facebook page, we will be posting videos of her the day she
came in where you can note the shaking. Men terrify her right now as
do all strangers. She is better with women. We can only imagine why.
She will potty outside but she isn't completely housetrained yet.
Cassie will not be available for rescue for at least 2 months but
prayers and some donations are needed to help this little girl gain
the strength she needs to undergo surgery and go on to where most of
our pups end up.... in PAWSOME FURever homes!
