Hi, my name is Hashbrown! I’m an 11-month-old boy. My foster mom says I’m special because I have a cool brindle coat, curly pug tail and I’m mixed with boxer! I weigh 30 pounds, knee high, and I am done growing. The vet says I am a healthy weight and should only eat 2 cups of food a day. I love my food and don’t like other dogs near me when I’m eating. I used to live in a yard where I was connected to a tree all day and all night. Sometimes it was really hot and sometimes it was super cold, but I’m a tuff guy, so I survived. I got bored a lot so I dug some holes to see if I could find any treasure. This helped pass the time while I waited for my family to take me on a walk. They never did, so I thought if I barked and reminded them that I was still there they would take me to the park.
One day my family told me that I was being a ‘destructive puppy’ so they dropped me off at the Fresno CCSPCA. I met a lot of friends there and I wasn’t stuck to that tree anymore! A nice lady named Grace Appleton came by my cage and saw that I was a good boy and didn’t deserve to die so she posted my picture on Facebook. My foster mom saw me and couldn’t resist my handsome face. The next day I got to go to her apartment and meet my two new pug brothers. I peed in the house a lot and chewed up all kinds of yummy new toys, but my foster mom said that I was being rude and I would learn to be a good boy soon.
The next day I went to the doctor and they let me take a nap all day! When I woke up I didn’t feel the urge to pee everywhere anymore and mom was much happier too. I’ve learned how to potty outside by the tree, but I don’t have to sleep next to it anymore. I get to sleep in my own crate or in mom’s bed if I’m a good boy! I love playing with my pug brothers and making new friends at Petsmart’s day camp. I’ve learned lots of new words at my foster home like ‘sit’, ‘off’, and ‘leave it’. Mom also taught me to ‘speak’ and I can only bark when she says that magic word or I might wake up the neighbors and that’s rude. I’ve never had pig ears, nylabones, or kongs until I came here, but I sure do hope I can have them from now on! During the day I nap in my crate or sleep at dads feet while he’s on the computer, then we watch movies together on the couch!
I’d love to go hiking, running on the beach, or bike riding since I have a lot of energy to burn. Being stuck in that back yard all my puppy life really cramped my style. I’m an active guy and need to keep my physique up for the ladies. I love those tasty small humans that have food stuck on their faces, but I’m kind of big and can knock them over. My foster home as a C-A-T! I’d never met one of those before and I don’t understand why it makes funny noises when I get close to it. I just want to be friends. I’ve come to accept that these cat creatures don’t appreciate my energy level and I prefer to watch them from a distance. I’m really excited to meet my new family and learn about the world! 661-204-8900
