Brillig's Story...

This sweet guy was abandoned in July 2011 with several other cats. We’re not exactly sure how old Brillig is, but our clinic staff estimates he was born between 2001 and 2004. Most certainly he’d been a companion cat in his former life, since he was already neutered and is easily picked up.

Brillig is slowly adjusting to shelter life and to being around so many other kitties. He was cautious at first with people, but now he loves human companionship. He’ll arch his back for rubs and rev up his purr motor as soon as you give him a little attention. Brillig likes to survey the goings on in the Willow Room perched high atop a cat tree. What is he thinking behind those bright green eyes? Probably daydreaming about a forever home to share with you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Brillig, a Chicago Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
