My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tundra is a drop-dead gorgeous dog! With her beautiful coat and winning smile, how can anyone not fall in love with this girl? Tundra was actually brought in as a stray (hard to believe) and no one came to claim her. She was obviously someone's pet as she is well trained and loves people. She is a young dog approximately a year old.

Here is what Tundra's foster parents had to say:

Tundra is a beautiful, intelligent dog who gets compliments from everyone who sees her. Tundra is friendly with all people she meets, including children. She is not shy around people and will accept pats (and compliments) from strangers.

Tundra is fine with dog house mates. She needed a calm and proper introduction, as well as an adjustment period (didn't take long, a day), but now she's fine with him, and even gives our dog kisses. She does enjoy "wrestling" with our dog.

We have not used a crate with Tundra and she does not need to be crated. We put a bed down for her and she sleeps on it through the night. She has not exhibited any anxiety when we leave the room but she does like to be with people. She has a very beautiful and soft coat and is a very pretty dog. She is a very healthy dog. Her house manners are beautiful. She doesn't chew or steal items or clothes. When in the house she knows not to play, nor is destructive. My feeling is, she would probably just "chill out" until her people came back.

When Tundra wants something (walk, treats, bathroom), she will "talk" to you and show you what she wants-either by going to her leash, the cookie cabinet or the door. For her age and breed she exhibits unusual calmess and maturity. Tundra knows her basic commands: sit, come, stay, lie down and wait are among her repertoire. She is a quick learner, especially if there are treats to motivate her. As well trained as she is in the house, when walking she does pull when she sees a squirrel or another dog. She also like her alone time and will go and lie quietly or amuse herself. She loves to be outside. Tundra has made no escape attempts from the house or yard.

She is a wonderful dog, and it is a pleasure having her here.

Tundra does lack confidence and will need further socialization but with a little time she will be a very confident, loyal companion.

If you think Tundra would be a good fit for your family, please go to our website at http://uglymutts.com and submit an application for consideration.
