My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Posted October 9th...Meet Bandit - a 10 week, 12 lb. Collie/Lab mix male puppy. While breed and size at maturity are just best guesses, it seems Bandit will likely be a medium size dog based on his current weight and age. He looks a lot like a collie and his webbed feet and LOVE for water are strong indicators for being part lab.

Bandit, the biggest of his litter, is just as sweet as can be. His name suits him well as he will steal anything - from food and water to your heart. He's always the first to the food bowl and if he can't get enough food, he grabs the whole bowl and tries to steal it. His siblings don't mind though because such a little guy can't handle the big bowl so he spills most of the loot leaving a trail of kibble for them to feast on. In the end, all are happy. Bandit has "the whole bowl" which now consists of a small portion and his siblings can spread out and eat the remains in peace!

Besides his thieving ways, Bandit is very curious and brave. He has no problem plunging ahead of his siblings to check out a new place or person. Bandit has no concept that the world is anything but a perfect, fun -filled place with lots of love for the taking. He's playful with his siblings but very gentle with the kids. Puppies are for tumbling around with. People are for snuggling and giving wet puppy kisses to. His favorite kissing spots are your nose and in your ear so you have to pay attention to this bundle of joy or you'll end up with a wet willy! And in case you were wondering, water is for drinking and playing in thus the picure of him all wet. Bandit can often be found with half his face in his water bowl, flinging the water everywhere.

Bandit along with his siblings came from a high kill shelter in Kentucky. Looking at his adorable face and seeing his personality, it's hard to imagine how such a wonderful puppy could end up alone and unwanted, minutes from dying. Lucky for him, we saw his face, knew his loving potential and saved him so he could meet a wonderful family deserving of his love. He would be the perfect pet to add to any family - with or without children. He's not picky! A very gentle, loving dog that you HAVE to come and meet. See for yourself what a great pup he is.

Bandit is being fostered in Mokena, IL with an older dog and 3 children under 10 yrs. old. He's great with the kids and loves running with them in the backyard. He's also great with other dogs - both his siblings and our older dog. We don't know about kitties, but there's no reason to think he wouldn't be good with them too assuming they wouldn't mind a Bandit investigation and romp or two.
