April's Story...
April is a full blooded jack russell terrier. At only 12 pounds, she is solid muscle and pure strength, with a heart as big as she is. April is house trained, crate trained and already in a foster home. She's proven to be an easy dog to have around, as long as you promise to take a break from your work every now and then and pet the dog. April loves to go for a daily walk and an occasional ride in the car. She knows to ride in the back seat and stay off the driver's lap. April is a little shy around other super boisterous dogs. Although she is fostered with other dogs, she would be fine as an only dog, too. Little, sweet dogs, like April, are so rewarding to rescue, because they never let you forget how much they appreciate you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

April, a Houston Jack Russell Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Jack Russell Terrier for sale in Houston, or seeking a Jack Russell Terrier dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Jack Russell Terrier breeders who help with Jack Russell Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
