Sam's Story...
Sam is a 4 year old (D.O.B. 4/1/02) black Lab. He has been vet checked, neutered, vaccinated, and tested negative for heartworm. This gentle giant weighs 123 pounds. Sam originally was a farm dog… when his owners got to the point in their lives where they no longer wanted to be on the farm, they moved to town. Sam’s owners loved him so much that they brought him to town with them. Sam adapted to town living very well. His aging owners took Sam faithfully on two walks a day. Family members were concerned about Sam’s size (with the ice and all) and felt that this would be a good time to transition Sam into another home. Sam has been a much loved dog and well taken care of. He is very friendly and loves to play in the fresh snow! Sam knows some commands such as sit, lay down, and shake. Call 507-451-4512 if you’d like to meet Sam. His adoption fee is $145. (CO)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sam, a Owatonna Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Owatonna, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Owatonna.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Owatonna already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Owatonna breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Owatonna paves the way for another one to be saved.
