Rodney's Story...
Rodney is a small basset weighing only 42 pounds, but he has great big ears that reach almost to the ground and flap behind him when he runs. He is a bundle of energy and will need an active playmate to keep him company during the day. Once he's finally tired himself out he will curl up on his dog bed and sleep all night. Rodney eats only from his own food bowl and is very gentle at taking treats. He has a big personality and a great sense of humor, he's a real clown and will keep you entertained for hours. His small stature makes him ideal for those of you who admire the basset shape and temperament but don't have room for those 70 pound dogs!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rodney, a Phoenix Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
