Petey was found along with his sisters in May 2011. He was born inside an auto repair shop. The owner knew Petey's Mom and fed her regularly, but he felt that cats belong outside, so out in the middle of a rain storm they were placed with no shelter. A nice lady came along and found them, making them a shelter and placing them inside the box so Mom could take care of them. Once they were old enough Petey and his sisters were separated from Mom. Unfortunately, Petey and his sisters came down with distemper, a sometimes fatal virus, Petey was our only survivor in his litter. Petey's only noticeable side effect is a little wiggle in his walk. Petey loves other animals, loves to play and loves one on one attention. If you think you have a place in your heart for Petey, please call!!
Petey is vaccinated, altered, FeLV/FIV tested negative and microchipped. Save The Animals Rescue Team, (S.T.A.R.T.) is a non-profit humane organization, founded by Annette Lamberti, that rescues stray, abandoned, injured, and abused kittens, puppies, cats, and dogs. The animals rescued are examined by a veterinarian, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and placed in one of our volunteer foster homes. Since S.T.A.R.T. does not have a shelter facility, these animals remain in our foster care until they are adopted. So many of these unfortunate animals are victims of pet overpopulation, therefore, this life-saving work is critical!!
It is our mission to prevent cruelty, promote spay/neuter, and to encourage awareness through education, while also teaching respect for all animals and the environment they live in. S.T.A.R.T. is a 501 (c)(3) private non-profit organization relying on and supported by tax-deductible donations, grants and group fund raising.

S.T.A.R.T. does require an adoption fee, a pre-adoption application along with signed contract once your application has been approved. If you are interested in meeting any of our pets please call us or access our pre-adoption application which can be located at www.startpets.net, click on "adoptions". Out of state adoptions require additional time pending our officers approval; you must be 21 years or older to adopt; an application does not guarantee an adoption approval.
