I am good with kids and good with small animals.

Shirley's Story...
Shirley is very lucky to have been taken into our rescue. She is approximately three years old. Shirley was slated to be euthanized at Flagler Humane Society and was rescued on what was supposed to be her last day.

When we first got her, Shirley's eyes did not look good. She had a growth on one eye and a build up of crusty looking stuff around both eyes. You can see the growth and crusty build up in the last picture above.

Shirley went into surgery to have the growth removed and to remove her eyelashes. Shirley had entropian (this is where the eyelids are turned into the eye and scratches them unless removed). Her surgery went well and she is ready to be adopted. You can see the difference in her eyes in the third picture listed above.

This young lady has a great personality. She loves to be held and will sit on your lap or chest as long as she is being petted. She likes to talk and make the guinea pig noises. When she hears the crunching of plastic bags, she's ready to eat her snacks (veggies and/or fruit).

Please give this sweet girl a forever loving home. She really deserves to live the rest of her life with that one special person or family.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shirley, a Williston Guinea Pig was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Guinea Pig for sale in Williston, or seeking a Guinea Pig from a breeder in Williston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Williston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Williston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Guinea Pig breeders who help with Guinea Pig rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Williston paves the way for another one to be saved.
