Maureen's Story...
My name is Maureen and I am looking for a home. I was found limping along a very dangerous road in South Dade. A nice person from This is the Dog! was kind enough to pick me up and take me to the animal hospital. Unfortunately, the vet said he could not fix my leg so I will be hopping along on my other three from here on in. It doesn't give me pain or... stop me from chasing balls, cats, and other dogs, it just means it takes me an extra second to two to get moving, or leaves me a bit unsteady on my leg tripod. I get along well with adults, children, and other animals. The "foster" family who took me in temporarily have two BIG Labs, and we get along very well but they are a little rough with me. Please email pets@thisisthedog.com for an application

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maureen, a Homestead Boxer/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer/Labrador Retriever for sale in Homestead, or seeking a Boxer/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Homestead.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Homestead already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Homestead breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Boxer/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Homestead paves the way for another one to be saved.
