Winter's Story...
Hi There – My name is Winter. I am about a year and a half old Husky/Malamute mix who was surrendered to a local shelter. I don’t quite understand why because I absolutely love love love people. I want to cuddle and kiss them all the time! I used to be an only dog, so I thought I should be the alpha dog at my new foster home, but my foster brothers and sisters have taught me how much fun it is to run and play with other doggies. So now I run and play for a while, then go “check in” with my foster mom to see if I am being a good boy and get a kiss and hug, then its off to play again! What a life! I live with 2 little boys 4 & 7 and would love to be able to lay all over them and kiss them, but my foster mom says I can’t ‘cuz I weigh more than them, but if I could, I sure would, ‘cuz I just love my peoples! I have learned that going into a crate is a safe place, and not punishment, so I freely go in mine now to eat and sleep when my foster mom goes to work and I don’t cry at all unless I REALLY have to go! I live with a kitty, but I don’t like the kitty and even though she swats me on the nose – and I get in trouble with my foster mom, I just cant help myself and still go after her, so a home without kitties will be best for me. I will also need a home with a fenced in yard, after all, I’m built for running!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Winter, a Rochester/Buffalo Husky dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Husky for sale in Rochester/Buffalo, or seeking a Husky dog from a breeder in Rochester/Buffalo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rochester/Buffalo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rochester/Buffalo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Husky breeders who help with Husky rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rochester/Buffalo paves the way for another one to be saved.
