Bear Boy's Story...
Bear and his friend Lady came to the shelter together. At our best guess Bear is around 7 to 9 years old, is Large in size, walks on a leash, sits when asked, he appears to be sweet, mellow yet playful, some what obedient, and a pretty happy big boy. He has a appointment to be groomed before leaving the shelter. While I was in Bear's kennel, I gave a little test by looking in his mouth, pulling on his ears and tail, holding his paw and giving him a little kiss and hug. Bear doesn't like his tail pulled to hard, other then that, he appeared to pass the test,. We feel he may make a wonderful & loyal companion. We also feel this boy would do best in a very well Large fenced yard to play in If you wish, Bear can be tested at the shelter around Dogs & Cats.

Act quickly to adopt Bear Boy. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bear Boy, a Grass Valley Newfoundland dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Newfoundland for sale in Grass Valley, or seeking a Newfoundland dog from a breeder in Grass Valley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grass Valley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grass Valley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Newfoundland breeders who help with Newfoundland rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grass Valley paves the way for another one to be saved.
