Niki's Story...
Niki is a very sweet girl. She loves other dogs, cats and kids. She is crated trained and does great on her housebreaking. She is about 2-3yr old. Niki was turned in to the shelter from a backyard breeder along with Fred her breeding buddy. She was emaciated and full of flease and a matted mess. She was only used for breeding and then thrown away.

Niki now needs a forever home to see how it is to be a dog. she is social and does well on outings, walks etc.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Niki, a New Milford Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in New Milford, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in New Milford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New Milford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New Milford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New Milford paves the way for another one to be saved.
