My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jax is a 2 year old purebred black and tan Doberman Pinscher and a GREAT dog. He comes from a good healthy breeding line in Lake Elsinore, but has no papers. We've had Jax since he was 12 weeks old, and he brings joy into our lives every day. He's the best dog we've ever had. We hate to let him go, but we are being relocated out of the country for work and can't take him with us.

Jax is an inside dog who comes with us to the office. He has been well-socialized from a young age with puppy classes, doggy day care, puppy parties, and visits to the dog park. He is somewhere between independent and cuddly. He likes his ears scratched, puts his head in your lap and likes to lay your feet, but he'll also go up to his crate to hang out alone. He is very smart, easy to train, and affectionate. He is not aggressive or overly shy, but friendly and protective when need be. He was not raised to be a guard dog, but rather a gentle family dog.

Jax gets along great with other dogs of all sizes, and would be happiest in a home with another dog to play with. He currently has a five pound 8 year old Maltese/ Shih Tzu for a sister, who also needs a new home (see ad for Sundae). He likes Dogtopia and the dog park. He also likes children, but comes from a home with no children. He is neutered and has beautiful cropped ears and docked tail. He is VERY well-trained and well-behaved with no behavioral issues. He never has accidents in the house, walks well on a leash and goes potty on command. He has never damaged any items and only chews his toys. He only digs holes in the dog run. He is quiet and has never jumped up on anyone. Jax knows numerous tricks and training commands, including: sit, down, off, lay, heel, turn around, stay, play dead, leave it, come, go potty, speak, fetch, high-five, drop it, shake and even sing! He follows commands off-leash and his recall is so good that we have had him return to us even when chasing a bunny! He has been trained to keep off the furniture. The only negative things about him are that he sheds, has gas sometimes, and has a sensitive stomach. Feeding him the same good dogfood (Canidae) and brushing him during his shower help with both.

We have put years of love and attention into Jax and will miss him dearly. He is a really special dog who deserves to be part of a great home. If you think that you might be the right person to own Jax, please email us details of your experience with dogs and why your home is right for Jax. After you meet Jax, if it seems like a match we will need to check your references and visit your home.. His vaccinations and heartworm and flea & tick meds are up to date.

Please give us time to respond to all inquiries, as we are very busy preparing for our move. As long as this ad is still up, Jax has not found his forever home. If you include a lot of details in your email, such as your home and family, schedule, other pets owned, and previous pet experience, it will help speedeup the selection process. Thank you so much. This is a a very special family dog and has received the best care. Plz call 619-655-6485 for more info
