Sadie's Story...
location: Tampa, FL
Sadie came to rescue with her momma (Maggie), from a shelter in Arkansas. She is a healthy 6 month old beauty and full of energy. Sadie weighs about 8 pounds, and has long legs and a short tail - and check out those ears and that curious look! She is a perky puppy, but is learning how to go outside, and understands "no". Sadie is a quick learner and would probably love a home with another dog to learn from and follow around. She is very good with other dogs but has not been tested around cats and small children. Sadie will sleep in her crate but will try to sneak into bed if you let her. She likes chew toys and will chew on a bone for hours. At night, she sleeps a full night. Sadie’s small enough to put into a doggy purse and take on a trip to the pet store; she's friendly with new people, not shy at all. She doesn't bark much either. Sadie will need to be leash trained, as she has not had much practice with leash training - but she is a very quick learner and will come around quickly. Did we mention that Sadie loves to pose for pictures and watches herself in the mirror? Please click here for more pix of pretty Sadie Ratbone.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sadie, a Jacksonville Rat Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Jacksonville, or seeking a Rat Terrier puppy from a breeder in Jacksonville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jacksonville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jacksonville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jacksonville paves the way for another one to be saved.
