Ivy is friendly with mellow or passive dogs but she does not like pushy or bossy dogs that get in her face. She is great with the boy dogs (she likes boys!) but if there are other females in the home, she needs to be the top dog. Who can blame her after all she has been through? Ivy needs an adopter whom is an alpha and can be a strong leader. If she is in a home with someone whom is not taking a leadership role, Ivy will begin to "people guard" over her primary owner (this is something we learned when she was in a foster home). We don't recommend a home with small children for Ivy because we don't know if she will try to people guard them as well?

Why Adoption is a Great Option
Ivy, a Sherman Oaks Cocker Spaniel dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cocker Spaniel for sale in Sherman Oaks, or seeking a Cocker Spaniel dog from a breeder in Sherman Oaks.
- Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sherman Oaks already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
- On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sherman Oaks breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
- You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cocker Spaniel breeders who help with Cocker Spaniel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sherman Oaks paves the way for another one to be saved.
