My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Belle (aka Bellz) – female, vet checked, altered, vaccinated to date inclu. Rabies, heartworm tested (-), dewormed, tx flea preventative, ~5yrs, ~14lbs, Fox Terrier mix.

Belle’s owners have decided they aren’t cut out for owning a dog at this point in their lives.

“Bellz” is a wonderful, energetic, smart, loyal little girl. She is always eager and aiming to please her person/people. She takes a little time to trust and bond but when she does she is so in tune with her person a simple snap of the fingers or “kiss” sound brings her back to you immediately or turns her focus to you in wait of your command regardless of what is going on. She is house trained and crate trained though she prefers free roam of her home when alone. She is like a little shadow and is usually in the same room as her people curled up on your lap, the couch beside you or a doggy bed – whatever you prefer. She is energetic and bouncy outside but will “tone it down” when indoors yet is happy to play fetch up and down the hallway if you want. She can be a little dominant with other dogs however she is getting along just fine with the other dogs (of all sizes) in her foster home as well as the cats, she is also fine with respectful children of any age. She is happy to sleep on the bed curled up under the covers or out in the living room on a dog bed. She loves to chase squirrels and raccoons off the property (what dog doesn’t?!) and will happily chase chipmunks up trees on your daily walks. Bell isn’t hyper but needs a good brisk walk each day, she’d be content with two shorter (30min) walks each day if you prefer. She could really take or leave the companionship of other dogs and doesn’t care for rude dogs that get “in her face” so she’d prefer not to bother with dog parks. She can however be off leash in a safe fenced or open area once she has bonded with her owner (give it a few months). Being a Terrier has made Bellz a wonderful, attentive, loyal, smart girl with energy to hike with you all day and being an adult dog has her maturity level in tune with what her people expect so she can happily cuddle in front of the fire all day on a damp day (aside from a brisk walk) or play all day if you want. She adapts to her people and surroundings and is just desperate for someone to love and care for her. She could live in a shoe box so to speak as long as she has that person or family to look up to and adore and have their admiration in return. Bellz is best suited to a moderately active family that wants a little companion able to tag along on family outings and cuddle up in the evenings. Bell is happiest in a house with a fenced yard.
