My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My family thought they had a forever home for me, but something happened and my new family backed out at the last minute. My family is retired to Europe forever traveling and researching for their books. What a miserable ninth birthday!
Now I'm learning my way at SOS Kitty, a multi-cat facility. So far, I just want to be sure I get appropriate respect from the other cats and kittens. Since I am the biggest cat in this house (16#), I pretty much go wherever I wish and am trying out all sorts of corners and beds.
I am a beautiful, full-bodied female. I love to chase wadded paper balls, especially up stairs. A mouse on a string provides lots of amusement. A scratchpad with catnip is luxurious! I come with my own bed, dry food feeder and litter box.
All my shots are up-to-date and my teeth have just been cleaned with a couple removed.

SOS Kitty adopts mature cats with 100% return/tgfrefund for the first month, since we know they are harder to relocate than younger cats.

My family adopted me from a rescue organization nearly 8 years ago and would never give me up except they may not every have a permanent home again. They are retired and doing on-site research for a WWI history book. They have had several cats and all have lived to near 20 years old. I have been taken to the cat doctor nearly every year for shots and check ups. Ugh!! I'm very healthy and have a beautiful coat. (Oral surgery 11/9/11.)

Since my "dad" was home writing every day, I spent more time with him than my "mom." She has just retired from her job away from home.

I have been much loved, but it will take patience for me to adjust to a new home. I am already scared because of all the furniture moving and packing ... new home ... and new cats!!

Safe Haven works with adopters of older cats. The adoption fee will be refunded and the cat recovered if the situation doesn't work out after a month.
