Afton's Story...
Available Soon

Afton is a handsome puppy. At the ripe age of 1 year old this male German Shepherd's last home was on the streets of San Francisco in the company of a young homeless man. He was tied to the bumper of a car that the homeless man knew was a GSD owner, and a dog person. He subsequently was turned into 'San Francisco ACC and offered to GSRNC.

Afton is a strong young male, solicited play with the male test dog, passed his eval with no issues, rides well in a care, will go into a crate and settle although this is not his favorite choice, and loves to go on walks during which he becomes quite civilized after about 20 minutes. Afton is toy motivated and food motivated and so will offer many tools for training. He is affectionate and wants to please, at time even acting sort of 'golden retriever' ish. He is a wonderful dog with lots of potential, and not a lot of negative baggage.

Afton is a level 3 dog being fostered in the south Bay.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Afton, a Fresno German Shepherd Dog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Fresno, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog puppy from a breeder in Fresno.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fresno already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fresno breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fresno paves the way for another one to be saved.
