Joey's Story...
Joey is a loving, well behaved 7 year old who loves to lounge around the house in his bed or in a warm lap. It’s easy to see how well he was taken care of in his previous home, until he was given up due to a major illness in the family. While he may lounge around at home, he springs to his feet when meeting people and when going on walks or just running around the backyard. He follows his foster mom everywhere too and enjoys being petted. He’s healthy and up to date on his vaccines. He does well in a crate and is house broken, never once having an accident at home. Joey gets along well with his foster sister, although he doesn’t like to play with her much. His unique features are a tongue so long that it rarely fits all the way in his mouth and that he can stand on his back two feet for an impressive amount of time while waiting for a treat! Joey is an overall great dog looking for another loving family. Complete an adoption application here. If you love me but can’t adopt me, please send a donation to help pay medical bills for not just me but my fellow foster brothers and sisters. They sure could use it!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Joey, a Windermere Pug dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pug for sale in Windermere, or seeking a Pug dog from a breeder in Windermere.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Windermere already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Windermere breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pug breeders who help with Pug rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Windermere paves the way for another one to be saved.
