My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Nahla is a beautiful Golden Retreiver mix. Her foster dad has taken adorable pics and shares:

"Have you ever seen any dog so cute. . . ever? Nahla is a very sweet little girl of 3 years and only 36 lbs. She loves to cuddle on the couch, and sleeps on my bed every night. She fits in seamlessly with my pack (Sadie & Daisy), and other dogs as well. Nahla is very athletic, loves to run and romp, and is great on walks and hikes. She enjoys toys and bones, but not excessively so, mostly she'd rather just cuddle. Nahla is not a barker, and doesn't try to escape from the yard. She is completely house trained, and has good indoor manners, and no food or toy aggression whatsoever.

In most ways Nahla is the perfect little girl, but . . . she's extremely timid, and almost anything startles her. She got away from me the other night. When a friend of mine offered her a treat, she just panicked, and jumped out of my car with no warning . . . leading to a long and sleepless night. All's well that ends well and she is safe and sound and home again. You see, Nahla came from a hoarding situation where she probably had to fend for herself. So she has a long way to go on understanding trust. For that reason she will need to become part of a family with a doggy sibling for her and without young children. A family with a predictable, calm, and stable life style. Nahla needs humans who will let her build trust slowly and gently. Once she truly understands that she is loved and appreciated, I am sure she'll be the most loving and affectionate best friend anyone could ever ask for. I love her very much, and if my home were large enough for three Goldens, I would adopt her in a minute."
