My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Every day we see and hear stories of neglected, abandoned, abused, unwanted, or mistreated dogs. Once in a while we see a case that is especially horrifying and makes us wonder how some people could be so ignorant and clueless about the care that dogs require. Paris is an 11 month old yorkie who had the misfortune of being purchased from a pet store by someone who should never have had a dog! When we got the call from someone wanting to surrender a pair of yorkies because they didn't have time to take care of them, we were not prepared for the terrible condition of the dogs when we arrived. First they brought out the male Plucky, and he very thin and covered in mats so close to the skin that his hair was starting to fall out. They told us they had decided to keep Paris the female, and when we asked to see her we could not believe her condition. She was even more matted than her friend, with scabs and irritated skin all over her head and back. She was SEVERELY emaciated and you could see every bone in her body. The owners seemed oblivious to the severity of her condition, but luckily we were able to get them to surrender her as well so we could get her the medical care she needed. She was rushed right to our vet, and has been recovering in a loving foster home where she has already gained 2 pounds in 2 weeks! She is now ready to find a permanent home that will make sure she is well-fed and cared-for the rest of her life. Despite her physical neglect, she is a very sweet happy playful puppy who is desperate for attention and loves humans and other dogs alike. Please submit an application if you are interested.

We do not have a shelter- all our pets are in foster homes and can be seen by appointment only during the week, or at our weekly pet adoptions every Sunday at the Animal Clinic of Morris Plains from 12:30 to 3PM at 3009 Route 10 East next to 5 Star Car Wash (formerly Boulder Car Wash) in Morris Plains (Denville on GPS). To help us better match a pet to your household, we request you fill out an application on our homepage www.secondchance.petfinder.com and copy and paste it into an email, or print it and bring it to our adoption day when you come. Local inquiries only please- we do not do long distance adoptions.
