My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ivy, a lovely Shih Tzu girl who will celebrate her 9th birthday 3/21/07, is cautious in her movements and spooks easily - but she is a very sweet girl. Rescued from a puppymill, Ivy has spent her entire life in a crate. She has learned to go potty outdoors when she is brought outside, but she is not yet housetrained with any regularity. She loves her breakfast and dinner and will wander around the house when it is time to eat. Otherwise she spends most of her time on the recliner. Ivy loves to cuddle, but is still afraid when you try to pick her up, especially from the floor. She is getting better about it. Ivy probably should go to someone who is somewhat knowledgeable about a puppymill dog, or at least someone who is patient, as she will have "accidents" in the house. She gets along great with other dogs and cats. Because of her small size and timidity, we would not suggest she go to a home with children under 14. She is not a nipper, growler, or biter, but she is still fearful of any type of quick movement. Ivy is being fostered in upstate New York and her asking adoption fee is $150.
