McGyver's Story...

MacGyver has been bounced around too many times and is ready for a permanent home of his own! Mac is a very energetic little guy who is waiting for someone very special.  He loves to both go on walks and play with toys, especially toys that squeak. Likely due to past abuse, MacGyver is initially shy with people that he doesn't know. Don't let that put you off though - if you go slow with him at first, then he will quickly become your best friend. We think Mac would do best in a home with a single female as he gets very overwhelmed when there a lots of people around and bonds to women as he seems to prefer their company to men. He has been fully obedience trained and loves to play with other dogs his size. If you would like to adopt MacGyver and give him the safe and happy home that he deserves, fill out an application right away!

About New Leash On Life Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

New Leash On Life is a non-profit animal rescue corporation. It was created to significantly reduce the devastating number of animals abandoned and euthanized in Los Angeles. We hold mobile pet adoptions twice a month and offer both free and low-cost seminars and school programs to help educate the public about responsible pet ownership.

We've recently developed our Lend a Paw program, rescuing dogs from the shelter and training them as assistance and therapy dogs for people and children in need. In addition to our Lend a Paw training program, we have now implemented a training program for all of our rescues. Each dog rescued from the shelter will go through an obedience training course prior to being placed for adoption. Some special dogs may be chosen for Lend a Paw, while others will be adopted to loving families. By training each dog, the adoptive family has a better chance of developing a better bond and a permanent relationship.
