Meeka's Story...
Meeka was born in June of 2011 to a friendly stray cat. Meeka and her mother were being fed by a neighborhood cat lover on the SE side of GR. She called us in to spay and neuter these animals and Meeka was placed in our adoption program. Come out and see just how beautiful Meeka is. The pictures just don't do her justice.

Our Adoptable Kittens ARE NOT WILD. We take them from the streets at a young age, and most are feral at the time of rescue. However we spend many hours taming, socializing, and acclimating them to indoor life as a pet cat. They are currently friendly, healthy, and playful kittens who are just waiting for their special someone to take them home.

All of our kittens are spayed or neutered, tested for FeLV/FIV, vaccinated against Distemper, and treated for fleas and other parasites.

If you are interested in adopting one of our kittens, please download an Adoption Application from our website at www.focusonferals.org, and email it to crazyforferals@yahoo.com, or mail it to PO Box is 372, Lowell MI 49331 Our adoption fee is $85 for one kitten and $125 for two.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Meeka, a Byron Center Calico cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Calico for sale in Byron Center, or seeking a Calico cat from a breeder in Byron Center.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Byron Center already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Byron Center breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Calico breeders who help with Calico rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Byron Center paves the way for another one to be saved.
