ZOOKIE's Story...
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION

THIS IS ZOOKIE....and she is an absolutely precious, 3 yr old, tan/white with black tips, 11 lb, Shih Tzu, who came to the Castaic Shelter as a stray. Have no idea what her story is, except that whoever had to give her up has to be missing her...she is such a good girl. She can be a bit wary of strangers at first, and her play-biting sometimes gets a little over zealous with people she is unfamiliar with who get too close too soon -- so she would be best in an adult only home or with older kids. But Zookie is a sweetheart of a dog! She interacts great with other dogs, but is more human oriented and loves to play with her humans and toys. She LOVES her toys and truly needs a home with tons of them!! Zookie is very loving, cuddly, kissy, good with her potty training (with outside access) and obedient. She wants to please. She would love to have a home where she gets a lot of attention and there is another dog. Her canine companion should be more on the submissive side, as she is an alpha....so a puppy or a dog who would constantly be in her face would not be a good match!! She does love to play...so a senior home might be too sedate for her. Zookie is a wonderful little girl and like all our kids, deserves a wonderful home. Might that be at your house??

Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID tag!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

ZOOKIE, a Los Angeles Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Los Angeles, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Los Angeles.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Los Angeles already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Los Angeles breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Los Angeles paves the way for another one to be saved.
