Katie's Story...
"Katie is a 2 ½ year old German Shep mix. She is active and likes to be around other dogs but would also be very content with one on one attention in a single dog home. Katie needs time to walk and play catch with a ball to wear off energy. She is a loyal companion who wants to be at your side. Katie has been around cats and does well but sometimes wants to play with them. She is housesbroken, crate trained and knows some commands. Katie has special medical needs and you will need to contact her foster parent for details.

As HAHS now has several adoption locations, please contact Patti at 913.766.5010 or pthun@kc.rr.com to find out when and where you can meet KATIE!"

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Katie, a Overland Park German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Overland Park, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Overland Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Overland Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Overland Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Overland Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
