Thor's Story...
Bark! My name is Thor and I came to Soft Place to Land from a puppy mill on 9/23/2011. I am a 8 year-old wire haired Jack Russel Terrier. I am pretty hand shy with people and prefer to approach you first. However, I am starting to understand the joy of cuddling and I love to put my head on your lap and get pets. I am going to need some patience with socialization, but the folks at SPTL are seeing improvements and I am starting obedience classes this month to help with my confidence with people. I really like to be outside exploring the yard and I have learned to walk well on a leash. I also love to swim! I can be a bit of a barker (go figure - I am a Jack) when I feel I need to alert everyone that something is going on. I am great in my kennel at night when it is time for bed. I am a very sweet and smart little guy waiting for my forever home. I am neutered, have had a dental cleaning, current on vacs, microchipped, and heartworm tested. My adoption fee is $150 and you can fill out an application for me at!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Thor, a Ft. Collins Jack Russell Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Jack Russell Terrier for sale in Ft. Collins, or seeking a Jack Russell Terrier dog from a breeder in Ft. Collins.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ft. Collins already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ft. Collins breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Jack Russell Terrier breeders who help with Jack Russell Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ft. Collins paves the way for another one to be saved.
