I am already neutered, up to date with shots, good with dogs, and good with cats.
Sumatra was rescued from the streets after fending for himself as best he could. He arrived at Tenth Life with a broken hip, was very thin, and a bit shy. Surgery has mended his hip, lots of extra cat food has filled out his thin frame, and he is slowly coming out of his shell. Once relegated to a life of hip pain, Sumatra is now healed from his surgery and can be seen leaping up to sun on windowsills or darting around the house at top speed. He gets along very well with other cats, enjoys the company of dogs, and has had limited but positive interaction with children. It takes him a little while to warm up to people but, once he does, he will sit for hours and try to "clean" his human companions with his scratchy tongue. He's such a character and maybe a bit of a clean freak. approx DOB October 2010
Tenth Life is an animal welfare organization that provides another chance at life to injured and abused stray cats. Our focus is on felines with extreme medical needs or ongoing conditions that make it difficult for typical shelters to afford their care.
Stage one of our mission is getting needy cats off the streets of St. Louis and into caring Foster Homes, where they await their forever homes. Stage two´s goal is to open a shelter building that will house special-needs kitties in a cage-free, no-kill setting until they can be carefully placed in their forever homes.

Our Adoption Process...
All potential adopters are required to complete a comprehensive application and interview, and will need to supply proper identification, as well as personal and veterinary references. Our adoption fee is $125 for kittens 6 months or younger, and $100 for any cat over six months of age. Our fee includes spay/neuter surgery, vaccines to-date of adoption, and a microchip. Once approved, all adopters are required to sign an adoption contract.
