Dovey (1511)'s Story...
Dovey's owner turned her in to the shelter November 2nd. Her beautiful puppies were turned in too. All of her pups have been adopted but Dovey is still looking for her new home. Dovey is a beautiful girl. She is a deep, dark chocolate color with a hint of red. She has amazingly, floppy ears and kind, gentle eyes. We are guessing her to be right about 2 years old. We are not sure how she is with other dogs, small children or cats. Since she is a sporting breed, she may not be the best match for a home with cats. If you are interested in adopting Dovey, you can visit her at the Lauderdale County Animal Shelter located at 3265 Curve Nankipoo Rd in Ripley, Tennessee. Our hours of operation are Monday-Friday 8am-2pm. (Closed Noon-1pm for lunch.) We are also open 8am-Noon on Saturday. Closed on Sunday. Our phone number is (731) 836-7387. New animals arrive daily so please come visit if you don't see what you are looking for on our website. If you are a rescue group or out-of-state adopter interested in our animals, please e-mail us as helplcas@gmail.com.

Act quickly to adopt Dovey (1511). Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dovey (1511), a Ripley Labrador Retriever/Redbone Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Redbone Coonhound for sale in Ripley, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Redbone Coonhound dog from a breeder in Ripley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ripley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ripley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Redbone Coonhound breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Redbone Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ripley paves the way for another one to be saved.
