Hershey's Story...
Hershey is a handsome chocolate cocker spaniel who has spent many of his first 4 years in pain and agony. A local groomer told us about him and insisted his owner relinquish him to DDWTN since she was unable to afford his costly vet bills. He has suffered from chronic yeast infections in his ears and flea allergies. When he came to us he was nearly hairless and had bloody sores all over his body from chewing. As you can see, several months of vet care, a diet change and flea prevention has changed Hershey's world. Just a monthly flea prevention pill and consistent ear cleaning is all he needs now.

Hershey is a loyal buddy to a person who will give him direction. He needs a strong owner that will not let him be the leader. He is reliably house trained and will go anywhere with you!

Hershey is in foster care in E TN and will be transported north when adopted.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hershey, a Providence Cocker Spaniel dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cocker Spaniel for sale in Providence, or seeking a Cocker Spaniel dog from a breeder in Providence.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Providence already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Providence breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cocker Spaniel breeders who help with Cocker Spaniel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Providence paves the way for another one to be saved.
