My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Maximus: 1+ 1/2 yr old male brown ticked agouti coat Chausie
( pronounced chow- sie )
regular adoption fee: see below

This is a super nice guy. I will get better photo's than these
which were taken his first day with me. He was wiggly. He is a
totally gorgeous guy but really his personality is his greatest
attribute. What a great lover he is!. Super smart cat. He was owner
surrendered to a shelter. It is hard to guess why since he was
obviously a well loved boy. He is intimate with his humans and lets
them know they are loved. He looks with his whole heart into your
eyes. Kisses your nose. puts his big paws around your neck.

Being a Chausie he has buns of steel. This is a solid boy. Big
gorgeous paws. He is probably still growing into them. The agouti
coat is typical also of the coat Abyssinians have if you are familiar
with that. Chausies are part Abyssinian and a small part Middle
Eastern Jungle Cat back in their breeding history. Short shiny dense
almost spiky fur. "Ticked" which means each hair has two or more
colors on it for example a dark tip and light shaft .The bars on the
legs are classic Chausie as is the shorter than normal tail. The 3/4
tail is typical of the Jungle Cat ( Felix chaus ) so Maximus'
tail is his birthright. And look at the length of those whiskers.

He is an active cat. This not a lay on the sofa and doze sort of
boy. His new family should expect a cat that can jump 6 feet
straight up - to the top of your frig for example. He likes other
cats and would prefer an active playmate. I do not know about dogs
but I expect he would gladly play with them after making his point
about his athletic abilities.

He eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.

His foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.
