My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

location: Reston, VA
Andy is a fantastic little dog and his new owner will quickly realize they are lucky to have found him. When you first arrive home Andy jumps for joy and wants to know what you’ve been up to all day. We are working on managing the exuberance, although he quickly calms down and trots alongside his human buddies as they move around the house. This dog has a great personality, is full of life, loves to go for long walks, and keep a close eye on all those pesky squirrels. Andy enjoys the outdoors and with plenty of energy would be well suited to a young, active family. When he returns home from his adventures he loves to curl up on the couch with his people, and will contentedly turn upside down and sigh if someone will rub his belly. Andy not had any accidents insidesince shortly after his arrival at his foster home, and seems to be fairly well potty trained. He is happy to sleep in his crate at night, although at the first sign of movement in the morning he's eager to join his humans for a nice walk, followed by breakfast. Andy gets along well with his high maintenance Rattie friend Kora, and even endures her relentless attempts to taste his paws, muzzle and elbows with a calm and quiet patience. He generally seems to be ok with other dogs however cats look suspiciously like those trespassing squirrels. Andy was a little scrawny and had patchy fur when first rescued, but with some organic treats and plenty of TLC is now 14 pounds - and is growing a clean and elegant coat. If you’re looking for a great mix of playfulness and energy, tempered by quiet nights curled up beside you on the couch, then you could do no better than this little dog. What’s not to love about someone that just wants a nice meal, a warm bed and a kind word in order to be your most loyal and trusting BFF? To see more photos of Andy please click here.
